For me, Christmas is the MOST wonderful time of the year! And the movie, “A Journal for Jordan” is the most BEAUTIFUL love story.
“A Journal for Jordan” directed by Denzel Washington and starring Michael B. Jordan is a poignant story about LOVE — love of your significant other, love of your children, love of your country, and love of self!
I acknowledge that many people have a hard time during this season as they remember those loved ones that have passed on.
In the midst of grief, this movie is a reminder to never stop creating special memories and documenting them through photos, video, or journaling. While your loved one will forever live in your heart, having tangible tokens that can be passed down to your children or family members also has a place - Celebrate & Cherish them always.
This movie touched me in a special way because it is also reminiscent of my early courtship with my husband. Some similarities in that hubby was also in the Army when we met, was recently divorced with kids, and living a distance away. Our attraction was instant — love/lust at first sight. His military career was high priority and my career in corporate was important as well. And then 9/11 happened; it changed the trajectory of our life and gave new meaning to our relationship.
25 + years later, we spend as much time together as possible, we document our vacations, date nights, and even our meals together — Big & Small!
Why? Because life is too short, and you just never know…
How do you cherish and celebrate moments with your spouse?
If you are having a difficult time in this season, my prayer is that this scripture can give you solace. John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
So, during this holiday and Christmas season, let’s love on one another by spreading JOY, PEACE & LOVE — Unconditionally.
And create memories that will last forever!
